Children's Ministry

Matthew 19:13-15
One day some parents brought their children to Jesus so he could lay his hands on them and pray for them. But the disciples scolded the parents for bothering him. But Jesus said, “Let the children come to me. Don’t stop them! For the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to those who are like these children.” And he placed his hands on their heads and blessed them before he left.

Deuteronomy 11:19
Teach them to your children. Talk about them when you are at home and when you are on the road, when you are going to bed and when you are getting up.

We have four Sunday morning groups:

  • Crèche group for babies and children under the age of 4
  • ‘Bubbles’ for Children aged between 4 and 6 years
  • 'X-Stream’ for children aged between 7 and 10 years
  • The Grid Group for young people aged between 11 and 17 years (see youth ministry for details)

The children stay in church to join in with the singing and worship for about 45 minutes to an hour before going to their groups. Bubbles and X-stream have a joint time of singing, games and a small snack before dividing into their groups for the lesson. The lesson is finished by approximately 12:30pm. There are refreshments after the service. There are often informal games in the big hall at the end of the session organised by the young people themselves.

All teachers have had a DBS check and the lead for child safeguarding is Stella Christopher.
