Bread On The Waters

'And all the people saw him walking and praising God :
and they knew that it was he which sat for alms at the Beautful gate of the Temple :
And they were filled with wonder and amazement at that which had happened unto him.'
Acts 3:9-10

Dear Friends,

The above verses are a glorious expression of Gods power in man's weakness. The poor lame man represents the condition of all our souls before we were saved. We were crippled by sin, not able to deliver ourselves, unable to enter through the gate beautiful, into the presence of God. As Peter spoke to this man, so the Lord spoke to us, 'Arise and walk,' and He lifted us out of the dust, unshackled us from our sin and made us to stand free for the first time in our lives! Hallelujah!

The Scripture states that when people saw this man walking and praising God, they remembered that he was the one who sat by the gate beautiful, begging for alms and they were filled with wonder! The same will be true of us. If we are walking with the Lord and continually praising Him, others will see and note how different we are from what we were.

"In the multitude of my anxieties within me, Your comforts delight my soul."
Psalm 94:19

Dear Friends,

It has been a while since I sent these out, for which I apologise! I hope to be able to send these out more regularly and most of all that they will be a real blessing to you at the start of the week. May you be built up and encouraged in your precious walk with the Lord.

Sometimes as believers we go through many trials at once. This is not unusual, the Psalmist knew the pain of anxious thoughts within him, not just one, but a few at one time! It is during this season of the soul that we can become worn down and robbed of our joy in the Lord. We can end up becoming consumed with the issues that unsettle us within, simply because they are unresolved, or we do not know how to handle them. If you are in such a situation there is hope! The Psalmist, in the midst of his anguish was able to know the comforts of the Lord delighting his soul. It is a wonderful thing to know that our souls can experience delight, and strengthening even though our anxieties have not been removed from us!
